Joanna Paxinou

Joanna Paxinou has written six film scripts and a mystery novel, KILLER IN THE HOUSE. She is a member of the Mystery Writers of America. Joanna hosted AT THE MOVIES WITH JOANNA on BlogTalkRadio, is returning to the air soon, and writes a blog with the same name where she focuses on stars and film classics of the 1930s and ‘40s.

She also writes a blog about growing up on west 57th Street in Manhattan, known as Hell’s Kitchen when she was a child-called Billionaires’ Row today.

She is also an award-winning business writer having won three writing awards from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). Joanna writes a variety of projects, including trade articles, newsletters, press releases, speeches, brochures, feature articles, etc. She has also edited several books, including three fiction novels that won nine national book awards, a jazz memoir entitled It All Started with Billie Holiday, and the centennial celebration book A Century of Caring honoring New Jersey’s Morristown Memorial Hospital.

Joanna has studied acting at the Stella Adler Studio and HB Studio in New York City and at The Just for Actors Drama School in San Jose, California. She appeared in showcase performances with the Brett Warren Studio in Manhattan and with the San Jose Drama School.

A native New Yorker, Joanna has a BA degree in English/Journalism from Hunter College in New York City. She studied creative writing for eight years in professional workshops conducted by faculty from the New School for Social Research in NYC, as well as online courses from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She also studied scriptwriting privately with Jen Grisanti Consultancy in Los Angeles. Joanna is a foodie and loves mystery novels and classic cars.
